Taba
Where is Taba?
Taba is Egypt's northernmost point on the Gulf of Aqaba, at the head of the gulf where Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia face each other across the water. The resorts of Taba Heights lie along the coast to the south.
It is a quiet corner of Sinai with a crusader-era castle on an island offshore, mountains down to the sea, and Petra, in Jordan, within reach across the border.

Island, Bay & Mountain
A small coast with a long history, and some of Sinai’s quietest water.
Pharaoh’s Island & Salah El Din Castle
A granite island a short boat ride offshore, crowned by a fortress rebuilt by Salah El Din in the 12th century, with views across the gulf and reefs around its shore.
The Fjord
A deep, narrow bay between Taba and Nuweiba, walled by mountains, with clear water for snorkelling.
Taba Heights & the mountains
The resort coast south of the town, with the canyons and coloured rock of the Sinai mountains behind it, explored by 4x4 or on foot with a Bedouin guide.
Petra, From Taba
Two countries’ great sites in one journey, planned around the border.
Taba is the Egyptian side of the head of the gulf, and Petra in Jordan is within reach from here. It means crossing a border, so the route, the crossing point and the visas are confirmed for the dates and the passports travelling before it goes into a proposal.
Tell us early if a client wants both; it shapes where the Egypt journey ends.
