The AirDomestic flight coordination in Egypt

How does flight coordination work for a multi-city Egypt itinerary?

Domestic flights are planned inside the itinerary, not booked beside it. Each flight is chosen for the day around it, and timed to the check-out before it, the transfer that meets it and the check-in after.

Where a leg is better by river or by road, it goes by river or by road. If a flight changes, everything either side of it moves with it.

Coordination, Not a Luxury Add-On

Egypt is long and narrow. The flights are what let a journey hold Cairo, the Nile and the sea in one week.

This page is about the working side of flying: scheduled domestic flights, and the connections between them, arranged as part of a multi-destination itinerary. Airline reservations and ticketing are handled by our team, and each flight is fitted to the ground on either side of it. Private jets and helicopter flights, as an experience in themselves, are described at Private Aviation.

Flights inside the itinerary

The flight is not a separate booking for you or your client to manage. It sits in the same programme as the hotels, the guides and the transfers, and is changed with them.

The legs that should not fly

Not every leg is better in the air. Between Luxor and Aswan the river or the road usually carries the client, and a road day can be the right choice where a flight would cost a morning at the airport.

One pattern, one plan

Multi-Destination Flight Coordination

Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel is a classic route through Upper Egypt, and a good example of why the legs are planned together. Each is carried a different way.

  1. By air

    Cairo to Luxor

The flight south is timed to the Cairo check-out and to a guide and vehicle waiting in Luxor, so the first afternoon in Upper Egypt is not lost to the journey.

  2. By river or road

    Luxor to Aswan

Usually the river, on a Nile cruise ship or a dahabiya, stopping at the temples between; otherwise the road. Nile Cruising names the vessels.

  3. By road, or a short flight

    Aswan to Abu Simbel

Abu Simbel lies far to the south of Aswan, near the Sudanese border. It is reached from Aswan by road across the desert, as in our 10-day sample journey. Scheduled flights also serve Abu Simbel; whether one fits depends on the day and the client. Aswan sets out the logistics.

  4. By air

    Aswan to Cairo

The return north is timed to the last visit and to the Cairo hotel, or to the connection home, so the client lands into an evening that is already arranged.

How Timing Is Aligned With the Rest of the Itinerary

A flight fixes a time. Everything else on that day is built around it, not the other way round.

  1. The day decides the flight

A morning at a site, then an afternoon flight; or an early flight so the next city starts at lunch. The flight is chosen to fit what the client is doing that day.

  2. Check-out before, check-in after

Hotel departure and arrival times are set from the flight. Where a flight leaves late or lands early, a later check-out or an earlier check-in is requested from the hotel.

  3. Transfers at both ends

A vehicle to the airport, and someone waiting at the other end. Private Transportation and Meet & Assist carry the client either side.

  4. The guide is handed on

The guide in the next city knows when the client lands and where they are going first. Guides & Experts describes them.

  5. When a flight changes

Delays and schedule changes happen. The transfers, the guide and the hotel on either side are re-timed with the flight, with 24/7 support while the client is in Egypt. On-Ground Operations sets out how.

Frequently Asked Questions

As one schedule. The flight is chosen for the day around it; the hotel check-out, the transfer to the airport, the meeting on arrival, the onward transfer and the next check-in are all set from it. If the flight changes, everything either side of it is re-timed with it.

Yes. Domestic flights are arranged as part of the programme, with airline reservations and ticketing handled by our team. International flights to Egypt are not part of the sample journeys.

In our sample journeys, the flights connect Cairo with Upper Egypt (Luxor or Aswan) and with the Red Sea at Hurghada. Between Luxor and Aswan the river or the road carries the client, and Abu Simbel is reached from Aswan.

No. This page covers scheduled domestic flights coordinated as part of an itinerary. Private jets and helicopter flights as an experience are described separately, on the Private Aviation page.

The transfers, the guide and the hotel either side are re-timed to the new flight, and the client is met when they land. Support runs 24/7 while the client is in Egypt.
